Position Overview:

The Traffic Engineering Specialist will play a pivotal role in executing engineering designs, traffic operations, and analytical assessments. This position requires a solid understanding of engineering principles to effectively manage and coordinate tasks with minimal oversight.

In this role, you will also serve as a mentor to junior engineers, providing guidance and support.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize, and oversee detailed phases of engineering projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines.
  • Utilize advanced design software and tools (such as Synchro, HCS, and VISSIM) for comprehensive traffic modeling and analysis.
  • Prepare in-depth technical reports covering traffic impacts, transportation planning, and safety evaluations.
  • Conduct design computations and ensure projects align with client specifications using appropriate design software.
  • Generate construction cost estimates and assist in the development of engineering documents for project advertisement and construction.
  • Support proposal preparations and attend client meetings to discuss project progress.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure project milestones are met within established quality standards.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills:
Proficiency in traffic modeling and analysis software specific to the discipline.
Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited program.
A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in the field.
Possession of a Professional Engineer License.

Preferred Qualifications:
Certification as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE).
Experience collaborating with local governmental agencies and departments.


Work Environment:

This position primarily operates in an office setting, with occasional fieldwork required under varying environmental conditions. The role may involve light lifting and is generally sedentary in nature.
