Registered Nurse Third Shift Emergency Department

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team on a third shift basis. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience working in an Emergency Department as a Registered Nurse and be able to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Reassessment
Conduct thorough assessments of patients and families to identify their needs and develop individualized plans of care.
Plan of Care and DocumentationDevelop, discuss, and communicate prioritized problem lists and plans of care for each patient, in collaboration with designated support persons.
Medication AdministrationAdminister medications safely and effectively, following South Shore Hospital policies and procedures.
Safety and QualityFoster a culture of safety by verifying patient identification, following hand hygiene guidelines, and maintaining a safe environment.
Professional DevelopmentAssume responsibility for own professional development by incorporating evidence-based practice, research, and performance improvement initiatives.
TechnologyUtilize technological solutions to work processes and practices, including Meditech applications.
ComplianceWork within legal, regulatory, and ethical practice standards, safeguarding patient information and complying with policies and procedures.
Patient and Family Centered CareConvey respect for patients' values, preferences, and expressed needs, communicating and collaborating effectively to promote patient health and well-being.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Previous Acute Care RN experience preferred
- ACLS, PALS, or ENPC certification
South Shore Hospital is a Level II Trauma Center, providing high-quality care to critically injured patients. Our Emergency Department is staffed 24/7 with over 350 health professionals, including physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, and other specialists. We offer a unique pediatric emergency service, staffed by board-certified pediatric emergency medicine physicians and board-certified pediatricians affiliated with Boston Children's Hospital.
