Job Summary

Sutter Health is seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer Level II to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic cardiac sonography examinations using established procedures, policies, and practices to ensure optimal results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a variety of complex stationary and mobile diagnostic equipment to perform echocardiography procedures, including transesophageal echocardiograms, intraoperative transesophageal echocardiograms, and structural heart procedures in the cardiac cath lab.
  • Ensure that routine and priority tasks are completed within established departmental time frames, prioritizing assignments and working within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Prepare for and assist physicians in a variety of diagnostic cardiac sonography and/or guidance imaging during invasive procedures, explaining and educating patients on the procedure, medications, or contrast media, and associated biological effects in a clear and professional manner to alleviate fear and anxiety.
  • Mentor and foster a constructive teaching environment that helps students and new technologists build confidence in their skills, knowledge, and abilities.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited Cardiac Sonography Program or equivalent education that meets the credentialing requirement pathway.
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or ARDMS (RDCS AE for adult or RDCS PE for pediatric) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification.
  • 2 years recent relevant experience in diagnostic cardiac sonography.
