Radiology Technologist OR/PEDS

Corewell Health is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Radiology Technologist to join our team. As a Diagnostic Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for performing accurate and efficient diagnostic exams in all areas of general radiology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform quality diagnostic exams after verification of patient identification and physician order.
- Acquire an accurate patient history and document in the medical record.
- Monitor patients during procedures to ensure patient safety.
- Perform radiographic and related patient care procedures using age-appropriate methods for patients' physical ability and/or limitations.
- Ensure STAT requests are relayed to radiologist in a timely manner.
- Effectively communicate on an inter/intra-department level with customer service, administrative, medical staff, and peers.
- Demonstrate ability to proficiently operate diagnostic imaging equipment and follow policy for any malfunctions or quality control failures.
- Utilize ALARA standards for minimizing radiation exposure to patient, staff, and self.
- Provide procedural information/education to the patient/family prior to each exam.
- Contribute to the effective operations of the department by assisting fellow employees and staying in compliance with quality assurance and quality control.
- Ability to accurately and efficiently use hospital computer systems for verifying orders, viewing schedules, and sending information to PACS.
- Assist in the training of students/new hires.
- Ensure equipment is wiped down between patients and exam room is clean and properly stocked with linen and supplies.
- Maintain competency in all assigned areas, including fluoroscopic, general diagnostic, orthopedic, and operating procedures.
Requirements:
- Graduate of Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Accredited Radiography program.
- Training gained at student level.
- CRT-Radiologic Technologist Registration - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist 180 Days required.
- CRT-Radiographer (R) - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Upon Hire required.
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required.
