Job Summary

U.S. Silica is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and record findings on confirmation sheets.
  • Complete pre-operation equipment inspection sheets on all equipment used during your shift.
  • Follow all company safety and health policies, including MSHA and US Silica guidelines.
  • Participate in task training and complete all required certifications prior to performing daily job responsibilities.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including high-traffic areas.
  • Perform quality checks on equipment and make adjustments as needed.
  • Inspect work areas and equipment prior to beginning tasks.
  • Fabricate equipment and facilities as required.
  • Install new equipment, machinery, and facilities using blueprints and installation manuals.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment and machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment and machinery.
  • Hoist, transport, and position equipment as required.
  • Assist electrical staff as needed.
Requirements
  • Strong industrial background required.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to work a 10-day on, 4-day off schedule.
  • Pass a welding, torch cutting, plasma cutting, and pipe fitting test.
  • Three to five years of experience with motor/shaft alignment, drill press, welding and cutting torch, plasma cutting, and pipe fitting preferred.
  • Experience in a mining environment a plus.
