Job Summary

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologists play a vital role in the diagnostic process, utilizing radiofrequencies and magnetic fields to produce high-quality images for medical professionals to interpret. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for preparing patients, operating imaging equipment, and analyzing data to ensure accurate diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain and verify patient information, ensuring accurate identification and preparation for exams
  • Utilize optimal imaging protocols and technical factors to maximize patient safety and image quality
  • Administer medications as prescribed by licensed practitioners, documenting activities in accordance with federal and state regulations
  • Evaluate images for proper positioning and technical quality, verifying archival storage and data transfer
  • Educate and monitor students and other healthcare providers, promoting a culture of collaboration and excellence
  • Apply principles of magnetic resonance safety to minimize risk to patients, self, and others
  • Assist licensed practitioners with magnetic resonance interventional procedures and perform imaging procedures as prescribed
  • Select appropriate pulse sequences, considering established protocols and data acquisition parameters
Requirements
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technologist and Certification Board (NMTCB) required upon hire
  • New graduates must obtain ARRT-R registry or NMTCB prior to first day of employment
  • Applicants hired after March 10, 2024, must complete steps required for advancing to level 2, including advanced certification, within 24 months
  • Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Radiologic Technology (Required), Bachelor's Degree-Related Field of Study (Preferred)
  • Minimum of 1 year-Related work experience (Preferred)
