Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Utility Line Technician to join our team in the Water and Sewer Maintenance department. As a key member of our Public Works team, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining water and sewer lines, as well as performing routine maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair water and sewer lines and accessories
  • Perform water and sewer taps and service connections
  • Install water meters and flush sewer lines and manholes
  • Locate water and sewer lines and install, test, and repair water meters and fire hydrants
  • Perform routine bacterial and CL2 tests and add necessary chemicals to sewer lines
  • Perform minor landscaping on property following completion of work
  • Operate trucks, tractors, back-hoes, and mechanical equipment in connection with above tasks
  • Be available for on-call duties as assigned
  • Complete work requests as generated by other departments
  • Assist in snow and ice removal
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One (1) year of general work experience required; water and sewer line work experience preferred
  • Valid Drivers License
  • CDL Class B with tanker and air brake endorsement required at time of hire or within six (6) months of employment
  • Flagging certification required within six (6) months of employment
Work Environment

This is a heavy work requiring the exertion of 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The worker is subject to outside environmental conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, noise, vibration, and wearing a self-contained breathing apparatus.
