Position Overview:The Patient Service Representative plays a crucial role in our Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina family medical office. This full-time position involves responding to incoming calls with professionalism and care, addressing inquiries related to our health services.
Key Responsibilities:- Answer and manage telephone inquiries in a courteous and professional manner.
- Provide detailed information regarding Rural Health Group's programs, policies, and procedures.
- Accurately collect, enter, and update patient demographic information in the EMR system.
- Direct patients to nursing staff for triage and medical advice as necessary.
- Handle urgent calls and ensure proper follow-up with nursing staff.
- Schedule appointments according to provider guidelines and manage cancellations.
- Make reminder calls for upcoming appointments, informing patients of necessary items to bring.
- Communicate clinic regulations, including hours of operation and payment policies.
- Facilitate access to services by reducing barriers for patients.
- Participate in educational opportunities relevant to customer service and call center operations.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
