Job Description:

Azusa Pacific University is a comprehensive Christian institution seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach compositing and basic visual effects at the undergraduate level.

The successful candidate will have expertise in creating lower thirds, title cards, and credit crawls, as well as compositing 2D animated characters with backgrounds. They should also be skilled in combining 3D animated elements into live-action scenes and adding effects such as fire, smoke, and gunshots into live-action scenes.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver instruction in the manner determined by the department
  • Prepare syllabus and teach curriculum according to departmental goals and objectives
  • Student advising and office hours
  • Participation in faculty meetings and departmental activities
  • Determine student mastery of material and assign final course grades
Qualifications:
  • Master's or bachelor's degree in a related field or requisite professional experience
  • Proficiency with After Effects and Nuke required
  • Proficiency with Fusion and/or Maya and/or Substance Painter preferred
  • Experience teaching at the college or university level desired
  • Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds
  • Demonstrated, vibrant Christian faith compatible with Azusa Pacific University's mission

Compensation:

$25.32 - $27.32/hour, with actual hourly rate determined by units, course length, experience, and rank of the candidate. Adjuncts are paid on an hourly basis including preparation and teaching time.
