Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cafeteria Worker to join our team at Middlebury Community Schools. As a Cafeteria Worker, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food service department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve food to students and staff in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary environment in the cafeteria and kitchen areas.
  • Operate dishwashing machines and equipment to ensure proper cleaning and sanitizing of dishes and utensils.
  • Assist with food preparation, including cooking, reheating, and plating of meals.
  • Provide excellent customer service to students and staff, responding to their needs and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Work collaboratively with other food service staff to ensure seamless service and efficient operations.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in food service or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask with ease.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
Working Conditions

The Cafeteria Worker will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment with frequent exposure to heat, steam, and cleaning chemicals. The position requires standing for long periods of time and lifting up to 50 pounds.
