**Job Summary**

We are seeking a skilled Pastry Cook to join our team at Balboa Bay Resort & Club. As a Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of sweet and savory pastries, breads, and desserts for our members and guests.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Prepare pastry items, including pastries, breads, desserts, ice cream, sorbet, mousse, custards, and cakes according to established recipes, quality, and presentation guidelines.
* Safely and appropriately use baking and measuring tools/equipment/appliances to prepare baked foods.
* Learn and work all the areas in the pastry section of the kitchen.
* Ensure proper storage of all pastry items in refrigerators and freezers to maintain product freshness.
* Assist with ensuring food leaves the kitchen simultaneously and in a timely fashion, is of high quality, and is prepared according to order.
* Ensure all food is stored in proper containers and at proper storage and holding temperatures.
* Measure and mix ingredients according to recipe using a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment such as blenders, mixers, grinders, slicers, and knives.
* Learn and work all the areas in the pastry section of the kitchen.
* Follows all standard food handling, sanitation, and health department guidelines. Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and company health, safety, and sanitation standards.
* Maintains work area in clean, safe, and organized manner.

**Requirements:**

* 2 years experience at a restaurant, resort, or hotel
* Must be available to work weeknights, weekends, holidays. Hours will vary but usually the shift will be 12pm - 8:30pm
