About the Role

Hartford Healthcare (HHC) is seeking a highly skilled Stroke Care Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team at the Ayer Neuroscience Institute. As a key member of our team, you will provide holistic, quality, and cost-effective advanced practice care for patients, families, and others in a target population, and participate in the medical management of patients to achieve or maintain optimal health status, manage disease, and reduce risk of illness.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in independent decision-making regarding the health care of individuals, families, and groups across the lifespan and across the health care continuum.
  • Report to Nursing Director, Medical Director, or Nurse Manager, or a matrix which may include Nurse Manager, Nursing Director, Medical Director, or some combination of those.
  • Collaborate with the neurology attending physician, rehabilitation, nurses, and other members of the health care team to provide comprehensive care for neurology, stroke, and other complex disorders affecting blood supply to the brain and spinal cord.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program if appropriate for specialty.
  • Current APRN license required after 1994.
  • Certification according to CT state law.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
  • Specific experience in specialty may be required.
