Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Paraprofessional to join our team at Henry County Schools. As a Paraprofessional, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational needs of our students, particularly in the Kindergarten setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Instructional Activities: Assist teachers in leading small group exercises, reinforcing instruction, and co-teaching lesson components as assigned.
  • Student Supervision: Monitor and supervise students, providing academic, emotional, and physical support as needed.
  • Preparation and Organization: Assist with preparation of materials for instruction, including copying, duplicating, and constructing display boards, learning centers, and manipulatives.
  • Clerical Tasks: Perform necessary clerical duties as required, including data entry, filing, and record-keeping.
  • Communication and Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, communicate effectively with parents and school officials, and maintain professional practices.
  • Confidentiality and Integrity: Maintain the integrity of confidential information related to students and staff.
Requirements
  • Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma or state-approved High School Equivalency (HSE).
  • Integrity and Character: Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
  • Professional Standards: Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
  • Reliability and Attendance: Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work, and able to perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
  • Physical Demands: Must perform routine physical activities, including bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds, and be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations.
