The Billing Specialist is a key member of the Inspiration Field team, responsible for performing financial and billing functions to ensure the efficient operation of our organization.
This role involves assisting with the overall billing process, including submissions of daily private, State, and Medicaid insurance, and collecting co-pays.
The successful candidate will also cover basic duties performed by the Resource Specialist and Bookkeeper in their absence.
Key Responsibilities- Perform assigned billing operations within the agency's billing platform.
- Work with private pay-customers and various insurance carriers to send invoices and collect co-pays.
- Ensure timely payments are received and resolve disputed claims in a timely manner.
- Complete invoicing, accounts receivable/payable for agency-related entities.
- Cross-train in the Finance area to learn various duties and responsibilities.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Experience utilizing EMR systems and 1 year of AR/Billing experience.
- Billing insurance carriers in a healthcare setting.
- Licensed driver with reliable transportation.
- 3+ year(s) of Medical Accounts Receivable/Medical Billing experience.
The work environment is usually moderate to loud, with occasional lifting and/or pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds.
This position requires working irregular or extended work hours.
