Position Overview

We operate a specialized 16-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) that caters to a wide range of critically ill patients, including those with complex renal, cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, endocrine, gastrointestinal, and surgical conditions.

As a recognized stroke center, we serve a varied patient demographic, drawing individuals from multiple regions.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources Leadership

  • Act as a mentor and coach for nursing staff.
  • Assist in the development of unit schedules.
  • Establish daily operational plans for the nursing team.
  • Coordinate staff attendance for mandatory training sessions.
  • Ensure all staff maintain current certifications as per regulatory standards.
  • Guide the peer interview process for selecting unit personnel.
  • Provide constructive feedback to the nurse manager regarding team performance.

Financial Oversight

  • Contribute to the formulation and achievement of departmental budgets and objectives.
  • Support payroll processes, including timekeeping oversight.
  • Manage the utilization of materials and supplies effectively.

Leadership and Development

  • Communicate a unified vision, mission, and values within the department.
  • Facilitate ongoing problem-solving initiatives to achieve quality outcomes.
  • Conduct training and educational sessions on quality improvement and patient satisfaction.
  • Oversee patient and physician satisfaction, leading process enhancement efforts.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care in accordance with established protocols.
  • Foster an environment that promotes high performance, teamwork, and continuous staff development.
  • Ensure effective communication of expectations and address issues objectively.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards through regular patient and environment assessments.

Clinical Expertise

  • Stay informed and proficient in management and clinical practices.
  • Exhibit adaptability between management and clinical roles.
  • Engage in educational opportunities to enhance both clinical and managerial skills.
  • Serve as a clinical resource in specialized areas.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited RN nursing program.
  • Current RN licensure in the applicable state, with compact state considerations.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association required upon hire.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification to be obtained within five months of hire.
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required within six months of hire.
