About the Data Quality Campaign
The Data Quality Campaign (DQC) is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to policy advocacy, envisioning a future where data-driven policies foster systemic transformation, enhance economic mobility, and promote student achievement. DQC is at the forefront of uniting all sectors of the education community to empower educators, families, and policymakers with reliable information, enabling informed decisions that support student success.
To achieve this vision, DQC focuses on three primary objectives:
- Enhance public awareness regarding the significance of data in guiding the student journey through the P–20W pipeline (early education, K–12, postsecondary, and workforce).
- Strengthen the capabilities of policy and education leaders to cultivate trust within communities, ensuring effective data utilization.
- Encourage state leaders to leverage available policy tools across P–20W to optimize data for the benefit of students and communities.

Position Overview
This internship presents a unique opportunity to acquire knowledge and experience in local, state, and federal education policy. Interns can expect to enhance their communication, organizational, and leadership abilities while gaining insights into education policy, particularly regarding the effective application of data to assist individuals from early childhood through to the workforce.
The Graduate Intern will collaborate across the organization, contributing to both daily operations and long-term initiatives. Additionally, the intern will have the chance to undertake an independent project aligned with their interests and those of DQC.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate possesses:
- A completed undergraduate degree and is pursuing a graduate degree in education, public policy, political science, or a related discipline.
- Exceptional writing and communication skills.
- Strong time management abilities.
- The capacity to manage multiple short-term projects in a dynamic environment.
- A collaborative work approach.
- A commitment to supporting students in achieving their fullest potential throughout their educational and professional journeys.
- Relevant internship or work experience (preferred).
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in DQC's communication efforts, including tasks related to publications, website management, and social media platforms.
- Conduct research on education data policy, state initiatives, and legislative matters at both state and federal levels.
- Assist in organizing DQC-hosted virtual meetings and events.
- Represent DQC at virtual events and provide briefings to team members afterward.
- Summarize pertinent policy reports and publications.
- Maintain and update internal tracking systems for publications, media, and presentations.
- Undertake additional assignments as needed.
Work Commitment
DQC is looking for part-time candidates available to work up to 20 hours per week. The position allows for remote work, with occasional in-person collaboration as determined by the supervisor. Interns should have access to a personal computer and reliable internet connectivity for effective communication with DQC staff.
Compensation and Work Environment
This position offers a competitive hourly wage. The role is primarily remote, with opportunities for in-person collaboration at DQC's office.
