Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain grounds at County facilities, including mowing, clearing weeds, and hedging.
  • Operate heavy equipment, such as mowers and backpack blowers, to remove debris from parking lots and surrounding areas.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including patching potholes and repairing roads.
  • Set up safety zones when working on roads or in right-of-way areas.
  • Perform minor plumbing work at restrooms and clean facilities.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools to perform job tasks.
  • Assemble and install recreational and playground equipment.
  • Perform heavy labor work, including loading and unloading asphalt and shoveling gravel and dirt.
  • Operate light-duty trucks and perform traffic control at construction sites.
Requirements
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • One (1) year of labor experience that provided familiarity with the area of assignment.
  • Valid State of Georgia driver's license.
  • Certain positions require a flagging certification within six (6) months of employment.
Working Conditions

Work is performed primarily in an outdoor environment with exposure to noise, dust, dirt, grease, water, machinery with moving parts, and possible sustained periods of hot, cold, or inclement weather.
