About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Interior Designer to join our team at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. As an Interior Designer, you will play a critical role in creating a healing environment for our patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Senior Manager of Interior Design in developing strategic design solutions that support a healthy and healing environment.
  • Develop comprehensive interior design guidelines and update them annually to ensure compliance with healthcare codes and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Design and Construction capital delivery team to standardize workspace sizes and furniture layouts.
  • Manage the selection of interior finishes, design of architectural features, and specification of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E).
  • Provide in-house interior design services, FF&E selection, and medical equipment selection on small projects.
  • Ensure design solutions are cost-effective and meet schedule requirements while maintaining high-quality finishes.
  • Conduct design review meetings with the Project Management and A/E Teams at each stage of the design process.
  • Prepare design and finish presentations as needed.
  • Provide interiors management support to the PM Team.
  • Prepare necessary procurement documents, including drawings, specifications, and descriptions of services.
  • Obtain bids and quotes for FF&E, medical equipment, and signage.
  • Negotiate pricing and prepare purchase orders.
  • Review and approve invoices.
  • Oversee the installation of FF&E, medical equipment, signage, and specialized finishes.
  • Prepare punch lists and confirm final completion.
  • Round through patient areas to check furniture for replacement cycles.
  • Inspect properties, work with clients, advise on furniture installation matters, and ensure compliance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design.
  • 10+ years of experience in interior design, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of FGI Guidelines, healthcare codes, NYC and NYS building codes, and ADA.
  • Design Planning - Knowledge of developing master plans, interior design planning, and space management.
  • Building Materials - Knowledge of interior finish materials, including proper specification and environmental considerations.
  • Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of customer needs assessment and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Administration and Management - Knowledge of business and management principles, including strategic planning and resource allocation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS Office and Project experience.
  • NCQDI Certification.
  • SketchUp and AutoCAD skills.
Working Relationships
  • Reporting to the Senior Manager, Interior Design.
  • Internal relationships with Project Management Team, Construction Supervisors, Electricians, Directors, and Project Support Group.
  • External relationships with Architect/Engineering Firms, Consultants, Manufacturers, and Vendors.
Salary Range

USD $70,200.00/Yr. - USD $78,000.00/Yr.
