Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and present design concepts for new store initiatives, including Effy Stores on new cruise ships, VIP spaces, and secondary retail spaces.
  • Develop functional layouts that optimize guest flow and meet operational needs, ensuring compliance with Effy brand standards and safety and accessibility standards.
  • Research and select materials, finishes, and furnishings that align with Effy standards while considering durability, maintenance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Work closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of design elements with structural and mechanical systems.
  • Coordinate with various Effy project teams and outside vendors and contractors to ensure that project deliverables are met, and quality standards are maintained.
  • Review and provide feedback on shop drawings.
  • Attend ship visits and site visits as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in interior design, retail design, and/or cruise design experience a plus.
  • Knowledge in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and InDesign in particular).
  • Knowledge of FF&E/Specifications.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing project requirements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to quickly execute design iterations.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of millwork and detailing.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and standards for cruise ships a plus.
  • Must be NYC based with availability to travel to various destinations as needed.
