Mental Health Therapist

Tenet Massachusetts is seeking a skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our team at MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham, Massachusetts.
Job SummaryAs a Mental Health Therapist, you will provide high-quality psychiatric care to adult, adolescent, and child patients, working under the supervision of the Charge Nurse. Your primary responsibilities will include planning and implementing milieu treatment, collaborating with the nurse therapist to determine a treatment approach, and providing individual counseling focused on treatment goals during hospitalization.
Key Responsibilities- Function as a milieu therapist to assigned patients, collaborating with the nurse therapist to determine a treatment approach and providing consistent individual counseling focused on treatment goals.
- Participate in milieu therapy for patients on an individual or group basis, leading or assisting in milieu groups, and incorporating knowledge of each patient's condition and application of various therapeutic techniques.
- Collaborate with other unit staff in assessing and evaluating patient's mental status, initiating and maintaining a therapeutic relationship with patients, and coordinating and implementing various aspects of milieu environment to provide a therapeutic experience for patients.
- Provide supportive care to patients, including participating in conversation, recreational activities, and basic living activities, and setting limits, confronting counterproductive activities and behavior, and reassuring and orienting patients.
- Record all appropriate information on patient charts, preparing regular reports describing each patient's mental status and functioning, and reporting and documenting overt, covert, verbal, and non-verbal communications by patients.
- Bachelor's Degree in psychology or a related field preferred.
- Bilingual preferred (Spanish/English).
- BLS required.
