Job Summary:

The Cath Lab Technologist is responsible for performing duties of circulating, scrub, and monitoring of invasive cardiology procedures. This role requires a strong knowledge base of cardiovascular diseases and the ability to interpret data gathered during procedures and recognize potential implications in patient care or complications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate radiographic equipment utilizing radiation safety procedures
  • Operate physiologic recorder/database system with expertise recognizing arrhythmias and normal/abnormal waveforms
  • Operate manifold, power injector, and other support equipment (VCR, ACT machines, oximeters, and transport monitors)
  • Develop cines when necessary according to policy
  • Exhibit a strong knowledge base of cardiovascular diseases and be able to interpret data gathered during procedures and recognize potential implications in patient care or complications
  • Help to efficiently run schedule by maintaining a smooth and steady rate of work by working independently

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree -OR- Registered as a Radiologic Technologist Radiography (RTR), Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), or Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT)
  • CPR certified
  • 1 year of experience in a hospital setting required
