Amazon Robotics is looking for a skilled Data Scientist to join our Software Research and Data Science (SWRDS) team. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing state-of-the-art solutions for never-before-solved problems in robotics.

We estimate that this role comes with a salary of approximately $142,000 per year, based on industry standards and the complexity of the work involved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement innovative data-driven solutions to drive business growth and improve customer experiences.
  • Collaborate closely with research and robotics teams to design and run experiments, develop new algorithms, and enhance Amazon Robotics analytics.
  • Partner with technology and product leaders to solve complex business problems using scientific approaches.
  • Build new tools and invent business insights that surprise and delight customers.
  • Work to quantify system performance at scale, expand analysis capabilities, and increase software component and warehouse process efficiency.
  • Engage with software development teams and warehouse design engineers to drive the evolution of the Amazon Robotics system.

About the Team:

The Amazon Robotics Software Research and Data Science (SWRDS) team builds and runs simulation experiments and delivers analyses central to understanding the performance of the entire Amazon Robotics system.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or higher in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, data science, business analytics, economics, finance, engineering, or computer science.
  • 1+ year of relevant academic research or industry experience within machine learning, applied statistics, computer vision, optimization, or related fields.
  • 1+ year of experience using data querying languages, scripting languages, or statistical/mathematical software.
