Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled Systems Safety Engineer or Principal Systems Safety Engineer to join our team in Redondo Beach, California.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system safety and a proven track record of developing and implementing safety programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing and recommending safety criteria in system design, equipment, and procedures to control or eliminate hazards.
The Systems Safety Engineer will participate in accident investigations, develop safety documents, and evaluate the interrelationship of system safety requirements and other aspects of concept design and development requirements.
The Principal Systems Safety Engineer will lead a team of safety engineers and be responsible for developing and implementing safety programs, conducting safety analyses, and providing technical expertise to ensure the safe design and operation of systems.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a STEM field and 2+ or 5+ years of experience in system safety, respectively. A US Govt. DoD Secret Clearance is required.
Preferred qualifications include experience with Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), Subsystem Hazard Analysis (SSHA), Test Hazard Analyses (THA), and Safety Analysis Report (SAR) development.
Northrop Grumman offers a competitive salary range of $87,200 - $130,800 and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401k, educational assistance, and paid time off.
