POSITION SUMMARY

The role involves overseeing Force Protection Services and managing communication from contract security personnel. This includes handling emergency and non-emergency calls, as well as monitoring security alarm systems across various Federal Facilities. The position requires coordinating timely responses, utilizing both radio and telephone communication effectively.

COMPENSATION DETAILS

Hourly Rate: $24.96 during training, increasing to $26.01 post-training.

Health and Welfare: $4.41/hr

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise FPS and radio communications while ensuring appropriate actions are taken during emergency and non-emergency scenarios, which include:
    • Delivering audio messages through radio and telephone
    • Coordinating activities of law enforcement and public safety personnel
    • Transmitting public safety information
    • Responding to inquiries and updating client records
  • Exhibit quick thinking and calmness in high-pressure situations.
  • Document all communications in the database, ensuring all necessary details are recorded.
  • Maintain comprehensive logs to ensure accurate records of alarm usage, promote officer safety, and facilitate effective communication among team members.
  • Operate multi-channel radio and telephone dispatch systems.
  • Access and comply with Federal, State, and local databases and regulations.
  • Assist in the quality review of dispatch events created by colleagues.
  • Monitor alarm signals and maintain records based on specific accounts.
  • Efficiently perform administrative tasks on a desktop computer and report any technical issues to management.
  • Oversee in-house closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems.
  • Provide dispatching support for alternate locations in case of system failures.
  • Contribute to the training of new dispatch personnel.
  • Regularly test alarms, communication systems, and other related devices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Background check is mandatory.
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to perform under stress and respond effectively to emergency communications.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a 911 dispatch or similar emergency call center role.
  • Strong telephone communication skills.
  • Capable of managing filing and other administrative responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with a 24-hour emergency communication center, including knowledge of public safety functions, regulations, and systems.
  • Proficient in using personal computers with word processing, spreadsheet, and related software.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

This position is primarily based in a dynamic office setting, subject to frequent interruptions. It operates 24/7, requiring 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
