Job Overview

Essential Qualifications:

  • Must possess NAVSEA Basic Paint Inspector (NBPI) Certification.
  • Basic Coatings Inspector / CIP Level 1 Certification is mandatory.
  • Ability to obtain a Government facility security pass (DBIDS).
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems is essential.
  • Experience in a shipyard environment is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections at various hold points and perform critical coating assessments on naval and commercial vessels.
  • Assist in both internal and external quality audits.
  • Complete all QA documentation for customer reviews or audits as required.
  • Provide QA training across the organization as necessary.
  • Execute nondestructive examination methods (VT, PT, MT, and/or UT) at Level II/III as needed.
  • Develop detailed inspection plans and reports for project personnel, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and drawings.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including outdoor weather.
  • Capability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Exposure to fumes and loud noise levels.
  • Regularly required to lift and/or move items up to 50 lbs.

Occasional Physical Activities:

  • Stooping, bending, and squatting.
  • Climbing ladders and navigating through tight spaces.

What to Expect:

  • Manage all quality-related activities independently, with a clear understanding of the Quality Management System documentation relevant to your work scope.
  • Collaborate with customers and vendors to meet their quality expectations, including effective communication across different time zones.
  • Develop and maintain key relationships within the business and vendor base.
  • Utilize expertise to facilitate root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing and casting processes, particularly with Titanium and Aluminium.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems and standards.
  • Proficient in document management and product lifecycle management tools.
  • Lead Auditor certification for ISO 9001:2015 is required.
  • Relevant HND/Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Willingness to travel globally, up to 75% of the time.

Experience Level: Minimum of 1 year in QA, non-destructive testing, and manufacturing.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends as needed.

Work Environment: Manufacturing facility and warehouse settings.
