Position Overview

The Richland County Public Library is in search of a dedicated Full-Time Associate for our Wheatley branch. This role is essential in fostering a welcoming environment for our diverse community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Exhibit a high level of energy and enthusiasm while delivering exceptional customer service in alignment with the Library's standards.
  • Welcome patrons and effectively identify their unique needs and preferences.
  • Support and engage with a wide range of customers throughout the Library, ensuring a professional and respectful atmosphere.
  • Assist the Manager and librarians in the overall operations and leadership of the Library, ensuring smooth workflow and positive customer experiences.
  • Provide accurate information regarding Library services, resources, programs, and initiatives.
  • Help patrons with equipment, materials, and procedural inquiries.
  • Promote operational efficiencies by ensuring the proper organization and condition of materials for customer access.
  • Contribute to the understanding and maintenance of the Library's material organization system.
  • Support programming for both adults and children.
  • Assist with various Library needs, including opening and closing tasks, maintaining supplies, and ensuring cleanliness and functionality of equipment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of two years of post-secondary education from an accredited institution.
  • At least one year of relevant clerical or work experience; a combination of training and experience may be considered.
  • Strong communication and technical skills, with a solid understanding of technology.
  • Capability to fulfill all job responsibilities.
Compensation & Work Schedule:

Salary: Competitive bi-weekly compensation with comprehensive benefits.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, including alternating weekends.
