Winds of Change is dedicated to inspiring change, fostering hope, and promoting recovery. We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Certified Peer Support Specialist to join our team.
This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and communities. As a Certified Peer Support Specialist, you will use your lived experience to provide support, encouragement, and empowerment, helping clients take an active role in their recovery journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Transportation: Provide transportation for clients to their appointments as needed.
- Group Facilitation: Facilitate recovery-based group activities to support client engagement and growth.
- Assessment: Evaluate and assess factors that may hinder clients' ability to live independently or integrate into the community.
- Communication Skills Development: Address and improve communication skills in individuals to enhance their interactions.
- Symptom Management: Implement effective skills and strategies to help clients manage their symptoms.
- Social Support Development: Assist individuals in developing and strengthening their social support systems.
- Skills Adaptation: Help clients adapt skills for various life domains, including home, work, education, leisure, and social activities.
- Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate crisis intervention when necessary to ensure client safety and well-being.
- Training Completion: Complete assigned training sessions, both in-person and through online learning programs.
- Documentation: Document daily activities and progress for each client accurately and promptly.
The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, be able to connect with others through their personal experiences, and foster trust and motivation in those seeking help.
We offer a competitive salary of $17.50 hourly, commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position requires certification as a Peer Support Specialist (or the opportunity to obtain certification through Winds of Change) and a valid driver's license.
