Position Title: Forklift Operator

Reports To: Production Supervisor

Employment Status: Non-Exempt

Department: PET C/D Lines

Qualifications Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is essential.
  • Minimum of 2 years of forklift operation experience is preferred.
  • Flexibility in work schedule is necessary.
  • Basic skills in reading, writing, and mathematics are required.
  • Ability to work from 5 PM to 5 AM on a 2-2-3 rotation, including weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

The Forklift Operator is tasked with operating production machinery, including palletizers and pallet-wrappers, preparing products for shipment, and efficiently loading products into trailers or storage racks.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Operating pallet forming and wrapping equipment, troubleshooting as necessary.
  • Supplying raw materials to the production line to ensure a consistent flow of operations.
  • Removing pallets from the production line and placing them in trailers or storage.
  • Conducting all required quality checks promptly and accurately.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, free from hazards.

Compliance with GMP & PPE Standards:

While on the production floor, adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is mandatory. All personnel must comply with the GMP regulations outlined in the employee handbook, which includes wearing hairnets, beard nets, earplugs, and safety glasses. Following standard operating procedures, including quality checks and operational protocols, is essential to meet food safety and quality objectives.

Additional Duties:

Performing related tasks as assigned by the Manager. In the absence of the Forklift Operator, the direct manager or designated individual will assume responsibilities.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibrations. Conditions may include exposure to wet and/or humid environments, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme temperatures, and noise levels requiring hearing protection.
