Career Academy Coordinator Job Description

At Athens Technical College, we are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to fill the role of Career Academy Coordinator. This position plays a critical role in the development and implementation of dual enrollment programs, ensuring seamless guidance systems between secondary and post-secondary institutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the development and implementation of dual enrollment programs to maintain and increase enrollment at local career academies and high schools.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for and collaborate with career academy staff to promote a professional guidance system.
  • Provide resources for students enrolled in career academies and their parents/guardians to make informed post-secondary decisions.
  • Evaluate career academy applicants' files to ensure admission criteria have been met and processed for college acceptance.
  • Verify student enrollment and program eligibility for financial aid purposes.
  • Coordinate with career academies the registration and withdrawal of students in a timely and organized manner.
  • Work with Academic Affairs in scheduling career academy classes and providing information to instructors.
  • Track data for career academy students and graduates for completion/graduation from the technical college.
  • Coordinate with financial aid staff regarding Georgia Futures Applications and HOPE grants/scholarships.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of work-related experience.
  • Preferred qualifications include three (3) years' experience working with Dual Enrollment, recruitment, and Banner.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Word and Excel.
  • Strong customer service skills.
