Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Morton Hospital. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing MRI diagnostic procedures, operating MRI scanner equipment, and providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Collect patient information through interviews and reviews of medical records to ensure accurate assessments.
  • Document patient assessments in a clear and concise manner, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate patient needs to prevent potential complications and coordinate care with other healthcare team members.
  • Explain procedures to patients, address their questions, and establish effective communication to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Inject patients using aseptic techniques and monitor for adverse reactions, responding appropriately.
  • Keep patients and family members informed of progress and delays, and complete job competencies annually.
  • Operate MRI equipment, producing high-quality images while following established protocols and procedures.
  • Prepare rooms for procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment is available, and clean and organize rooms after procedures.
  • Assist in clinical training of radiology and nursing students, and notify supervisors of supply shortages, equipment malfunctions, or unusual problems.
  • Contribute to the team approach to provide exceptional care and service, using proper MRI safety techniques to minimize risk.
Requirements
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current ARRT registered certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging with RT(MR) designation
  • Documented training and experience in MRI preferred
  • Current ARRT registered certification in Radiography with RT(R) designation preferred
