Maintenance Manager Job Summary

The Maintenance Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for directing all maintenance efforts to achieve quality, efficiency, safety, and financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage resources to ensure operations meet production goals at budgeted cost.
  • Maintain and manage inventory to ensure cost-effective equipment uptime.
  • Identify required spare parts and establish optimal inventory levels.
  • Develop and manage relationships with outside vendors and contractors.
  • Effectively report budget attainment and contributing factors.
  • Develop and implement capital projects to meet company goals.
  • Manage both capital and non-capital projects to ensure objectives are met on time and within budget.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure departmental alignment with plant goals.
  • Develop and maintain accurate reporting for management.
  • Implement effective corrective actions for downtime and waste events.
  • Improve preventive maintenance processes within our PM software.
People and Organization:
  • Build and manage a team of supervisors, leads, parts clerks, and technicians to achieve plant objectives.
  • Provide effective leadership, performance management, and skills development for department personnel.
  • Ensure all personnel adhere to company policies, including food processing regulations and safety protocols.
  • Maintain clear expectations for department personnel and ensure compliance with necessary documentation.
  • Manage all safety activities for the department, including training, program development, and equipment evaluations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in maintenance and people management.
  • Food manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Proficient in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • PLC troubleshooting preferred.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures for various equipment and machines.

This role requires the ability to lift 50 pounds, walk through a manufacturing plant, and sit at a desk for extended periods. Good vision, hearing, and other senses are necessary to perform duties effectively.
