Job Summary

The HVAC Maintenance Mechanic plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities' mechanical systems. As a skilled technician, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Update work statuses and document tasks completed in the CMMS using a mobile device.
  • Assist in making decisions on all repairs and report major problems to the Manager as appropriate.
  • Clean, lubricate, service, repair, and diagnose malfunction of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical building systems.
  • Construct, finish, install, maintain, and repair electrical and mechanical systems, or the facilities of any related systems, using power & hand tools and other vital equipment.
  • Analyze and correct sophisticated building system problems and electro/mechanical problems related to utilities.
  • Support project management activity as needed.
  • Respond to emergency problems in the facility and make emergency repairs as needed.
  • Maintain logs, perform rounds, and complete P.M. work orders, tests, and inspections.
  • Maintain shops and mechanical areas in a clean and safe manner.
Requirements:
  • 5 years' experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in an institutional setting in an engineering or maintenance subject area.
  • HVAC certification or license highly preferred. Refrigeration Technician experience required.
  • Experience working with blueprints and schematics.
  • A general understanding of electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Rudimentary ability to apply hand-operated construction equipment.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift 50 pounds and kneel/bend/stoop and perform strenuous labor for extended periods of time.
