About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Retail IT Systems Engineer to join our team at Maverik. As a bridge between multiple departments, you'll play a critical role in developing new processes, systems, and managing retail technology projects across the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engineer and support retail technology software, hardware, and fuel systems for our stores
  • Maintain automation to audit updates for feature/system updates, security patches, and firmware updates
  • Develop and coordinate projects for new software/hardware with multiple teams
  • Engineering, maintenance of telecommunications technologies, including DSL, Cable, T1, and Cellular Data
  • Monitor security systems, including camera systems, locking door, and badge system, remote locking server racks
  • Management of ticketing system to track projects, support Retail Connect center, and support our stores
  • Develop and maintain documentation and training for all systems engineered and supported by this team
  • Responsible for retail lab environments for multiple teams to ensure proper internal testing and Quality Assurance
  • Assignment to a weekly on-call escalation rotation where you will be monitoring systems and taking escalation calls from our Retail Connect center all hours of the week
Requirements
  • An Associate Degree in a related field preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of technical training or previous technical role, or an equivalent combination of education and retail experience preferred
  • Experience with SQL for database management
  • Knowledge of networking, including experience with Meraki or Cisco systems
  • Proficiency in Ivanti management for patch management and updates
  • The ability to adapt to changing circumstances, tasks, responsibilities, and people to achieve optimum results
  • An ability to anticipate customer needs and prioritize customer satisfaction and service
  • Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to investigate and weigh alternatives and select the appropriate course of action, driving activities to measurable results
  • A record of looking beyond the obvious to identify root causes, simplify complicated processes, and improve work processes by selecting the best possible options
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including strong listening skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization
