St. Elizabeth HealthCare is seeking a highly skilled Perioperative Nurse to join our team in the Surgical Assistant role. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced nurse to work in a fast-paced perioperative setting.

About the Role:

  • This position is ideal for a registered nurse looking to transition into a surgical first assistant (SFA) role.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and other healthcare team members to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • This role requires strong communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist surgeons with surgical procedures under direct supervision.
  • Utilize the nursing process to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care transitions.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of patient care activities.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and contribute to quality improvement efforts.

Requirements:

  • Current RN licensure in the state where work is being performed.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a surgical RN.
  • Able to obtain CNOR certification within one year of hire/transfer date.
  • Prior acceptance into an acceptable RNFA program within one year of hire/transfer date.
