Job Summary
">We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse First Assistant Surgery to join our team at St. Elizabeth HealthCare.
">About the Role
">This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate RNFA to work closely with our surgical team, providing exceptional care to patients undergoing various surgical procedures.
">Responsibilities
">The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
">- ">
- Providing hemostasis and wound exposure, handling tissue to reduce the potential for injury, suturing tissue, and applying dressings to the wound under the direction of the surgeon.">
- Utilizing the nursing process and functions as the patient advocate for the patient's plan of care based on an accurate/concise patient assessment.">
- Demonstrating knowledge of aseptic techniques when functioning in the perioperative setting in role of circulating and scrub nurse.">
- Performing and documenting accurate and complete sponge, needle, sharps, and instrument counts.">
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare team members when providing nursing care.">
- Responding in the required time frame for emergent surgical cases and being prepared/ready within the required time frame.">
- Working with anesthesia providers in delivering nursing care to patients requiring anesthesia.">
- Maintaining a safe environment for optimal patient outcomes.">
- Communicating effectively with patients, visitors, and health care team members.">
- Transporting patients postoperatively and communicating information to receiving units.">
- Assisting in performance improvement activities and utilizing data to positively impact patient outcomes.">
Requirements
">To be successful in this role, you will need:
">- ">
- A graduate degree from an accredited school of nursing.">
- Current registration to practice in the state where work is being performed.">
- Successful completion of RNFA program and internship that meets AORN's Standards for RN First Assistant Programs criteria.">
- BCLS certification.">
- CNOR certification.">
- Two years of operating room experience in both the scrub and circulating roles as an RN.">
Compensation and Benefits
">We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement savings plan, paid time off, and continuing education opportunities.
