Cafe Attendant

Job Summary

The Cafe Cashier/Attend position at Salem Hospital is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of the cafeteria. This role involves preparing and serving food, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and assisting with various tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Food Preparation and Service
  • Prepare and serve food to customers in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the cafeteria and surrounding areas.
• Customer Service
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
• Housekeeping and Maintenance
  • Assist with cleaning and maintaining the cafeteria and surrounding areas.
  • Restock supplies and equipment as needed.
• Teamwork and Communication
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure the smooth operation of the cafeteria.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, staff, and management to resolve issues and concerns.

Requirements

• Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One to three months of related food service experience preferred.
• Skills and Abilities
  • Basic communication skills to understand and speak for safe, efficient performance of job responsibilities.
  • Basic computer skills, which may be obtained through on-the-job training.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate routine information.
  • Ability to work from oral and written instruction.
  • Basic math skills (count and compute).
