Senior Network Engineer

About the Role:

The Senior Field Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and improving network systems, managing data entry, upgrading and expanding networks, and introducing new technologies. This role requires a strong understanding of wireless telecommunications and experience with Ericsson equipment, particularly Base Band 6630, 6631, and 6640.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the operation and maintenance of network systems through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, coordinating repairs, evaluating new equipment, conducting tests, implementing new system features, and installing software upgrades.
• Monitor system performance and alarm reporting, identify and resolve issues, and respond to after-hours alarms as necessary.
• Manage and optimize 4G and 5G network infrastructure to ensure efficient operation and performance.
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of LTE and lab-related equipment, ensuring seamless integration with other network components and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
• Maintain historical records by documenting system changes, configurations, procedures, and statistics related to 4G, 5G, and IMS systems.
• Prepare comprehensive reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, and presenting data visually through graphs, charts, and tables.
• Maintain database performance by calculating optimal values for database parameters, implementing new releases, and completing maintenance requirements.
• Participate in on-call rotation for emergency response.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma/GED required. A 2 or 4-year degree in IT or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience: Three to five years of experience in network engineering is required, with a focus on wireless telecommunications.
• Experience with Ericsson equipment, particularly Base Band 6630, 6631, and 6640, is essential.
• Special Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Valid NC driver's license with a good driving record. Proficient in computer applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to multitask effectively.
• Physical Requirements: Capable of sitting, standing, bending, stooping, and lifting. Proficient in using a computer/keyboard and general office equipment. Able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
