Job Summary:

The Auditor will conduct audits in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) and Division policies and directives. The successful candidate will participate in entrance and exit conferences, contribute to audit scope, objectives, and audit tests, and gather, analyze, and summarize information to complete each audit step.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct audits in accordance with GAGAS and Division policies and directives.

  • Convey pertinent information to audit team members and work unit management.
  • Prepare written documents that are clear, concise, and well-organized.
  • Ensure that audit work papers and examination/audit reports are appropriately cross-referenced.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree including or supplemented by 24 undergraduate or graduate semester credit hours in accounting, auditing, or taxation.
  • Two years of qualifying professional accounting and/or auditing experience gained after meeting the educational qualifications.
  • Master's degree or doctoral degree in accounting, business administration, business management, computer science, computer information systems, or related IT field; criminal justice, economics, engineering; finance, mathematics, public administration, public or community health, public policy, political science, or statistics.

Additional Information:

This position is considered an Office-based position which requires approximately 30% travel. Travel will be required to conduct audits or provide in-person field audit support, attend meetings and training, and provide training or other assistance to field staff and local and school officials, as assigned.
