Court Officer

Cameron County is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the role of Bailiff. As a key member of our court team, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the Judge, staff, and attendees in the courtroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain order and security in the courtroom, ensuring the safety of all individuals present.
- Assist the Judge and/or Juvenile Referee in administering courtroom procedure, including coordinating jail dockets and attending to the needs of jurors.
- Screen incoming calls and visitors, and take defendants into custody as needed.
- Provide information and assistance to employees, managers, vendors, and the public regarding court functions and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year of experience in law enforcement, public relations, or a related field
- Basic Peace Officer certification from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE)
- Court Security Certification from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement
- Valid Texas Driver's License
