Job Summary

As a Behavioral Support Crisis Intervention Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing immediate and compassionate crisis intervention services to individuals in distress.

Your primary responsibility will be to de-escalate crisis situations, assess client needs, and implement effective behavioral support strategies to promote stability and positive outcomes.

You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to utilize your expertise in behavioral interventions and counseling techniques to empower clients and facilitate their journey towards recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Crisis Intervention: Respond promptly to crisis situations, providing de-escalation and support to individuals experiencing emotional distress, aggression, or challenging behaviors
  2. Safety Planning: Utilize an individualized approach to create and revise safety plans for youth both as prevention and as a response to crisis situations
  3. Behavior Support Planning: Work in collaboration with the clinical department to develop and implement individualized behavior support plans to address crisis triggers, employing evidence-based practices and person-centered approaches
  4. Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a comprehensive and cohesive approach to assessments, crisis intervention and ongoing support
  5. Crisis Prevention: Assist with educating youth and training staff in crisis prevention techniques and strategies to minimize crisis occurrences and enhance safety
  6. Data Collection and Reporting: Accurately document all interventions, progress, and incidents, maintaining comprehensive records for analysis and continuous improvement
Requirements

Bachelor's degree and two years of experience or Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Behavioral Sciences, or a related field is preferred.

Individuals lacking a bachelor's degree, but come with significant experience for the position will also be considered on a case by case basis.

Proven experience in crisis intervention, behavioral support, or related mental health fields. Experience working with individuals with diverse behavioral challenges is required.

Leadership and Data Management experience will be considered favorably.

Excellent writing proficiency in policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Crisis intervention certification or additional training in de-escalation techniques is preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage and collaborate with clients, families, and the team.

Demonstrated ability to approach clients with empathy, compassion, and non-judgment, fostering a safe and supportive environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess crisis situations and develop effective intervention strategies.

Ability to adapt to dynamic and fast-paced crisis scenarios while maintaining composure and professionalism.

A collaborative mindset, willingness to work in a team-oriented environment, and contribute to the success of the crisis intervention program.
