Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at UnitedHealth Group. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients and preparing them for laboratory testing. This is a critical role in the healthcare system, and we are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work well under pressure.

Responsibilities
  • Collect blood samples from patients using a variety of techniques, including venipuncture and capillary puncture.
  • Prepare blood samples for laboratory testing by labeling and packaging them correctly.
  • Ensure that all blood samples are handled and stored properly to maintain their integrity.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff to ensure that blood samples are collected and processed correctly.
  • Maintain accurate records of blood samples collected and processed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current National certification or registration as Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist required.
  • 1+ years of related experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of laboratory techniques and equipment required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CLA or ASCP Certified.
  • 2+ years of experience in a medical setting.
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Ability to properly drive and operate a company vehicle.
  • Ability to receive and comprehend instructions verbally and/or in writing.
