Job Summary

As a Water and Gas Crew Supervisor with the City of Danville, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient installation and maintenance of water and gas mains. This position requires strong leadership and coordination skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with a team to achieve project goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with crew members to delegate tasks and optimize resource utilization during installation and maintenance activities.
  • Supervise crew members to ensure work is completed safely and to a high standard, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Document work activities, including obtaining maps from W&G engineering, locating water and gas mains and services, and preparing service and materials records.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED, with basic computer skills and 1-3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Valid Driver's License (CDL - Class A) with an acceptable driving record, as well as certifications in Operator Qualification, Fusion, Trenching and Shoring, Confined Spaces, and Flagging.
Working Conditions

This role requires frequent standing, walking, lifting, and bending, as well as occasional sitting and carrying. The work environment is typically outdoors, with exposure to respiratory hazards, noise, and vibration.
