We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Danbury Hospital. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures, producing and evaluating images, and providing technical support to interpreting physicians.
Key Responsibilities- Review patient history and physician's clinical assessment to ensure accurate exam selection
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during exams
- Process and present images to radiologists for interpretation
- Assist radiologists during invasive procedures
- Manage exam schedules and workflow to minimize patient waiting time
- Maintain familiarity with computer system to complete, reschedule, and cancel exams as needed
- Keep exam rooms clean and stocked, and ensure diagnostic equipment is sanitized after each patient
- Interact with nursing floors and receptionists to ensure patient preparation for exams
- Fulfill compliance responsibilities related to the position
- ARDMS registration and 30 CEU credits in a rolling 3-year triennium
- Experience with patient care in a hospital setting
- Graduate from an accredited Ultrasound school or Allied Health Program
This role requires manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity. There is some occupational risk and very heavy physical effort may be exerted. The physical environment is significant exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and human waste.
CredentialsARDMS registration is required for this position.
