Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Nuvance Health. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures, producing high-quality images, and providing excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including producing, assessing, and evaluating ultrasound images.
  • Provide interpreting physicians with oral or written summaries of technical findings on ultrasound.
  • Provide basic patient care and comfort, and perform diagnostic radiographs on patients while monitoring patient safety.
  • Review ultrasound requests to ensure that the appropriate exam is being done based on the patient history and physician's clinical assessment.
  • Ensure the safety and comfort of patients, and maintain a clean and stocked environment.
  • Process images taken and present them, along with all necessary paperwork, to radiologists for interpretation.
  • Assist radiologists during performance of invasive procedures, including taking vital signs before and after the procedure.
  • Fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
Requirements
  • ARDMS registered, with 30 CEU credits in a rolling 3-year triennium.
  • Experience with patient care in a hospital setting.
  • Graduate from an accredited Ultrasound school or Allied Health Program.
Working Conditions

This position requires manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity. There is some occupational risk, and the physical environment is significant exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.

This position requires very heavy effort, exerting up to 50 pounds of force.
