PCB Assembler III

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled PCB Assembler III to join our team at Benchmark Electronics. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for assembling and modifying electronic components, subassemblies, and systems according to specific instructions.
Responsibilities:
- Read and follow assembly prints, work instructions, drawings, procedures, and specifications used in the manufacturing of PCBs.
- Identify by sight workmanship and material defects in touch-up and assembly areas and suggest basic changes to the work instructions to improve operations.
- Perform tasks with a high degree of care and attention to details while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Assemble electronic components, assemblies, and modules by working from samples, visual aids, wiring lists, and process sheets.
- Maintain accurate material control within the work area.
- Perform inspection of own work in the immediate working unit.
- Participate in providing timely feedback to other operations, management, and support engineering, as appropriate.
- Follow and maintain accurate process documentation.
- Assemble PCBs of the highest degree of dexterity and skill/knowledge.
- May perform inspection of other employee's work.
- Use sophisticated tooling to perform operations.
- Recommend process improvements to management and engineering.
- Serve as a mentor and may be a backup to the Team Leader or Supervisor.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of specialized/more complex PCB and/or Optics assembly experience.
- 2+ years of experience mentoring others.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
- Ability to use hand tools and associated devices to manufacture PCBs and other electronic assemblies.
- Ability to learn and master all tasks associated with PCB assembly that are assigned.
- Ability to identify electronic components.
- Ability to identify solder non-conformance and correct them.
- Effective communication, both verbal and written.
- Ability to respond to written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work with and around chemicals used in the PCB manufacturing process.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to obtain and renew certifications on assigned equipment and willingness to cross-train in other areas.
