Job Summary:

Indian Rivers Behavioral Health is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Specialist to join our IPS Supported Employment Program team. As a Peer Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with mental health conditions in achieving their employment goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Employment Goals: Assist individuals in developing and achieving their employment goals, providing guidance and support throughout the process.
  • Peer Support: Offer peer support and guidance to individuals, helping them to develop self-advocacy skills and build confidence in their abilities.
  • Treatment Team Collaboration: Attend treatment team meetings and provide input on individual's progress and goals.
  • Job Development: Assist individuals in finding and maintaining employment, providing support and guidance throughout the process.
  • Education and Training: Provide education and training to individuals on topics such as self-advocacy, job search skills, and resume building.
  • Community Outreach: Engage with community resources and organizations to provide support and guidance to individuals.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of individual's progress and goals.

Requirements:

  • Peer Specialist Certification: Must be certified as a Peer Specialist through the Alabama Department of Mental Health.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Must have experience working with individuals with mental health conditions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. Must be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
