Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate RN Unit Manager to join our team at Caldera Care. As a key member of our care team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional nursing care to our residents and supervising a team of nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:
    • Assign daily work tasks and direct the work of nursing staff
    • Reassign staff as needed to ensure efficient care delivery
    • Prepare written evaluations of staff performance
    • Enforce company policies and procedures, including disciplinary actions as necessary
    • Initial time records and authorize variances
    • Receive and address employee complaints
    • Participate in training programs and assist with new staff orientation
  • Nursing Management Responsibilities:
    • Assess and implement individualized care plans for residents
    • Ensure timely completion of routine assessments and evaluations
    • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate resident care
    • Communicate regularly with medical staff regarding resident needs
    • Document resident care and progress accurately and timely
    • Assist with ongoing resident care as needed
    • Process new admission orders and assist with the admission process
  • Additional Duties:
    • Provide care to residents as needed in the event of staff absences
    • Ensure assigned areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner
    • Monitor and order supplies as needed
    • Transcribe medical orders to resident charts
  • Requirements:
    • Current RN license in good standing
    • Minimum 1 year of experience as a supervisor in a long-term care setting (preferred)
    • BLS certification
    • Knowledge of rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices
    • Knowledge of nursing and medical practices, laws, regulations, and guidelines
