Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Manager will be instrumental in strategizing, organizing, and supervising the upkeep of facilities, machinery, and mechanical systems to enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and resolve manufacturing equipment challenges that lead to production delays, excessive waste, or diminished productivity.
  • Assess the condition of facilities and equipment, pinpointing maintenance requirements.
  • Establish and execute a schedule for routine maintenance and property management.
  • Formulate, implement, and evaluate strategies aimed at continuous enhancement of equipment reliability and performance.
  • Oversee the preventative maintenance program to guarantee optimal functionality and reliability.
  • Leverage knowledge of emerging technologies and industry advancements to refine maintenance methodologies.
  • Design and implement an audit framework for mechanical systems.
  • Execute corrective measures following manufacturing system evaluations.
  • Assist in the planning and oversight of maintenance and capital enhancement initiatives.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to Maintenance, Tooling, Automation, and Processing teams, supervising their activities.
  • Manage the performance of maintenance personnel, including Process Technicians and Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures by the maintenance team.
  • Establish and uphold safe working procedures and practices.
  • Monitor and maintain established quality benchmarks across all processes.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the annual maintenance budget and submit budget requests.
  • Track expenses to align with budgetary objectives and ensure cost efficiency.
  • Coordinate vendor contracts and manage procurement orders.
  • Provide regular updates on maintenance and repair statuses.
  • Play a key role in the planning and execution of systems necessary for the seamless transition of new projects into production.
  • Continuously seek innovative manufacturing methods for plastic components and advocate for change.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and OH&S standards.
Qualifications:

Experience:

A bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Familiarity with problem-solving analysis and team dynamics is essential. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are necessary for effective collaboration with team members, suppliers, and various organizational levels. Experience in designing, constructing, and maintaining Mechanical, Electrical, Pneumatic, and Hydraulic systems, along with PLC and Robotic programming, is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is also required.

Human Relations:

This role operates within established guidelines under the general supervision of the Plant Manager. The primary contacts for this position will include management, maintenance, human resources, and engineering, serving in a collaborative and advisory capacity to employees reporting to this role.

The role is situated within a plastic injection molding environment, and the Manufacturing Manager may occasionally be exposed to extreme temperatures and noise levels. Adherence to safety and security protocols is mandatory, and familiarity with emergency procedures is essential. The ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally and to stand or walk for extended periods is required.
