Job Summary

This role is located at our store in Jackson, Michigan, where we are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team. As a Sales Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, generating sales, and maintaining a high level of product knowledge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide outstanding customer service, answering questions and assisting customers in finding products.
  • Generate sales by using the S.A.L.E.S. process to help customers find everything on their lists.
  • Complete all company and departmental paperwork accurately, including price change bulletins and inventory adjustments.
  • Receive, open, and unpack merchandise, checking paperwork against items received and replenishing stock as needed.
  • Display and maintain merchandise on end caps, shelves, counters, or tables, following company planograms and building displays to attract customers and promote sales.
  • Maintain on-hand integrity through inventory adjustment reports, including cycle counts and negative on-hand adjustments.
  • Follow the nightly maintenance checklist to ensure proper store recovery and cleanliness.
  • Maintain familiarity with new products and ad merchandise.
  • Practice loss prevention techniques to minimize shoplifting losses.
  • Working knowledge of the tools available to operate the store, including the RF Gun, Back Office Procedures, and Store Opportunities.
  • Follow GLA policies and procedures for all transactions, engaging customers to ensure they are receiving all the benefits of being an Ace Rewards member.
Requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively with customers or associates.
  • Ability to understand and respond to verbal instructions or questions.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with a moderate noise level. The associate may work near moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.

Compensation

The hourly rate for this position is $12.50.
