About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Fleet Engineer to join our team at Trinity Industries, Inc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate railcar designs and products for compliance with regulatory and contractual standards.
  • Develop and manage engineering change processes, engineering drawing packages, and maintenance instructions.
  • Lead engineering projects for creating railcar specifications and reviewing with customers.
  • Manage CAD functional activities and provide internal technical consultative services to division/plant managers.
  • Maintain external relationships with vendors, customers, and engineering personnel.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in engineering procedures and administration, with emphasis on railcar design preferred.
  • Excellent communication and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects of differing scale.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to execute all phases of product design, prototype development, and manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of AAR and/or FRA regulations, as well as Autodesk systems like AutoCAD and Inventor.
